About Tricholoma populinum J.E.Lange

This mushroom species, Tricholoma populinum J.E.Lange, has a tannish cap that reaches up to 16 centimetres (6+1โ„4 inches) wide. The cap may display radial streaks, and typically has a lighter-colored margin. Its stem grows to a maximum length of 7.5 cm (3 inches). This species is common in western North America, where it grows in association with cottonwood and poplar trees, often near rivers in sandy soil. It is an edible mushroom, and has been traditionally eaten by the Salish peoples of British Columbia.
