About Tricholoma pessundatum (Fr.) Quél.
This species, Tricholoma pessundatum (Fr.) Quél., has an orangish cap that can reach up to 18 centimetres (7 in) across. The cap margin is lighter in color, and the cap surface becomes viscid when wet. Its gills are white, but they develop stains over time, and their method of attachment to the stem varies. The stem grows up to 14 cm (5+1⁄2 in) long. This fungus produces a white spore print, and it has a scent of sour meal. It contains toxins that are capable of causing severe gastrointestinal upset.
