About Trichodiadema pomeridianum L.Bolus

Trichodiadema pomeridianum L.Bolus grows as a loosely branching, semi-erect shrublet reaching up to 30 centimeters in height. Its internodes are long, with a rough texture created by tiny white papillae. Mature leaves are approximately 15 millimeters long and approximately 2 millimeters wide. Leaf surfaces are densely covered in bladder cells that do not have papillae, with the only exception being the basal margins of the leaves. Leaf tips bear simple diadems made of 3 to 8 yellow bristles, which radiate out from matching yellow cup cells. The petals are pink to purple in color and grow in two series. This species is often easily confused with the related species T. setuliferum; T. setuliferum can be distinguished by its much longer leaves, which can reach up to 24 millimeters in length.
