About Triatoma recurva (Stål, 1868)

Triatoma recurva is a species of kissing bug belonging to the family Reduviidae. This species is found in Central America and North America. Like all kissing bugs in the genus Triatoma, Triatoma recurva is an obligate blood feeder that primarily preys on vertebrates. Despite this primary feeding habit, individual Triatoma recurva can consume the hemolymph of arthropods, and they can fully develop to maturity on a diet made up entirely of cockroaches.
