About Triantha racemosa (Walter) Small

Triantha racemosa, commonly known as coastal false asphodel or southern bog asphodel, is a flowering plant species belonging to the Tofieldia family. It is native to the Coastal Plain of the Southeastern United States, with a small number of disjunct populations located further inland. This species grows in acidic wetlands, including wet barrens and savannas. In mid-summer, Triantha racemosa produces a raceme of white flowers. An intermediate population, which suggests a transitional form between this species and the more northern Triantha glutinosa, occurs in the New Jersey Pine Barrens.
