About Treubia lacunosa (Colenso) Prosk.

Treubia lacunosa is a liverwort that grows flattened along the ground, producing a single fleshy, brittle main axis. Two rows of lobes grow outward laterally from this axis, and each lobe has a small upright lobule at its base. Mature individuals of this liverwort are generally around 1.5 centimeters wide, and 4 to 9 centimeters long. Mucus-covered hairs surround both the rhizoids and the sex organs of the plant. Its sporophyte grows from near the apex of a lobe, featuring a very large seta and a relatively small foot.
