About Treron sphenurus (Vigors, 1832)

Treron sphenurus has greenish-yellow plumage and a wedge-shaped tail. The crown is tinged with orange-rufous. Males have a variable amount of maroon coloring on the back and scapulars; this coloring is absent in females. This species occurs in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, with a range that covers Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Tibet and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.
