Tradescantia subaspera Ker Gawl., commonly called zigzag spiderwort, is a flowering plant species belonging to the family Commelinaceae. It is native to the eastern United States. Zigzagging stems and wider leaves set this species apart from Tradescantia virginiana. It is recommended for use in shady, naturalistic garden settings. Its flowers have three petals that range in color from violet-blue to purple. Flowering occurs from May through September.
