About Tosia neossia Naughton & O'Hara, 2009

Tosia neossia is a species of endemic Australian starfish in the family Goniasteridae. It lives in littoral areas, rock pools, and shallow waters that do not exceed 26 metres (85 ft) deep, found in both open areas and hidden under rocks. Its distribution covers the southern coast of the Australian state of Victoria, the extreme southeastern coast of South Australia, and the waters around Tasmania and the Bass Strait, cementing its status as an endemic Australian species. Tosia neossia is carnivorous and feeds on sponges and other invertebrates. The eggs of Tosia neossia are orange and measure about 700 μm.
