Tortula acaulon, previously classified as Phascum cuspidatum, is a moss commonly known as cuspidate earth-moss or toothed phascum moss. It has leaves 3 mm long and grows in green patches. This moss is very widely distributed, occurs across a broad range of habitats, and includes multiple recognized varieties. The variety piliferum of this species grows on sandy soils near coastal areas.
