The marbled sand frog, scientifically named Tomopterna marmorata (Peters, 1854), is a frog species belonging to the family Pyxicephalidae. It is native to East and southern Africa. Confirmed populations of this frog are located in Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe; it may also be present in Namibia, Eswatini, and Tanzania. Its natural habitats include dry savanna, moist savanna, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, rivers, intermittent rivers, intermittent freshwater lakes, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, arable land, pastureland, water storage areas, and ponds.
