The northern red-billed hornbill, with the scientific name Tockus erythrorhynchus (Temminck, 1823), is a hornbill species that belongs to the family Bucerotidae. Its distribution ranges from southern Mauritania through Somalia to northeast Tanzania. Currently, five species of red-billed hornbills are recognized. All five of these species were once considered to be a single conspecific species, and some authorities still classify the other four red-billed hornbills as subspecies of Tockus erythrorhynchus.
