About Tithorea harmonia (Cramer, 1779)
Tithorea harmonia, described by Cramer in 1779, has a wingspan of approximately 70 millimetres (2.8 inches). This toxic "tiger" butterfly displays the common pattern of black wings marked with bright orange bands. The forewings have black tips, and this species also has orange antennae. Its larvae feed on plant species in the genus Prestonia. It is a widespread species, found from Mexico through to South America.
