Tischeria quercitella, commonly known as the oak blotch miner moth, is a moth species that belongs to the family Tischeriidae. Confirmed sightings of this species have been recorded across North America, specifically in the Canadian province of Ontario and the following U.S. locations: District of Columbia, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. The larvae of Tischeria quercitella feed on a range of host plants, including Castanea dentata, Castanea sativa, Castanea crenata, Castanea ozarkensis, Quercus alba, Quercus ilicifolia, Quercus prinus, and Quercus velutina. Larvae create mines within the leaves of their host plants while feeding and developing.
