Tinolius eburneigutta was described by Walker in 1855. Males of this species have antennae that are strongly bipectinate, meaning they are comb-like on both sides. The caterpillars of this species are known to feed on plants in the Thunbergia genus. Recorded larval food plants are Thunbergia alata from Sri Lanka, Thunbergia grandiflora from the Indian subregion, and Thunbergia mysorensis from India.
