About Tinantia pringlei (S.Watson) Rohweder
Tinantia pringlei, sometimes called the Mexican inchplant or spotted widow's tears, is a perennial alpine plant belonging to the dayflower family. It is native to northeastern Mexico. This species is cultivated as an ornamental plant in temperate regions, valued for its attractive spotted purple foliage and lavender flowers. It is also a common weed found in greenhouses. Individuals of this species reproduce primarily, or sometimes exclusively, through self-pollination.
