About Thysanozoon nigropapillosum (Hyman, 1959)
Thysanozoon nigropapillosum has a long, broad body shape, and reaches a maximum length of 3 inches (76 millimeters). Its dorsal body surface is deep black, and covered in numerous yellow-tipped papillae of varying sizes. The ventral body surface is dark brown. The outer margin of the body is slightly wavy, and outlined with an opaque white border. Small ear-like pseudotentacles grow at the middle of the species' anterior end. This species swims by propelling itself through water using a rhythmic undulating motion of its body. It is widely distributed across the tropical Indo-Pacific region.
