This moth species, Thysanoplusia daubei, has a wingspan ranging from 27 to 31 millimeters. Its forewings range in color from dark grey-brown to reddish-brown, with a darkened lower midfield. A distinctive silver-white marking shaped like the Greek letter Gamma stands out on the forewings; this gamma marking is stretched and often filled with pink. The outer transverse line has a light border on both sides, and the wavy line is strongly jagged. The hindwings are pale brownish, with slight darkening along the edge. The thorax is covered in dense fuzzy hair and bears a few tufts of hair, and the proboscis is well developed.
