About Thudaca obliquella Walker, 1864

Thudaca obliquella is a species of moth belonging to the family Depressariidae. It was first described by Francis Walker in 1864. This moth is found in Australia, with confirmed records from New South Wales, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania, and South Australia. Adults have a wingspan ranging from 16 to 18 millimeters. They closely resemble the related species Thudaca mimodora, but can be distinguished by differences in wing markings: on the forewings, the first transverse streak lacks a dark bar above its middle, the second transverse streak lacks a dark bar above its lower end, and a blackish line runs along the hindmargin. The hindwings of Thudaca obliquella are a lighter grey, suffused with a pale whitish ochreous color.
