About Thiotricha atractodes Meyrick, 1922
Thiotricha atractodes is a moth species belonging to the family Gelechiidae. This species was first described by Edward Meyrick in 1922. It is native to Australia, with all recorded specimens collected from Queensland. This moth has an approximate wingspan of 12 mm. Its forewings are an ochreous whitish shade; the dorsal area is grey, contained within a yellow-whitish streak running along the forewing fold. The dorsum is whitish towards its base, and the extreme anterior costal edge is dark fuscous. A grey subcostal line runs from the wing base to a grey patch that covers the apical half of the forewing. This grey patch contains a light orange upcurved streak that extends from above the tornus to the apex, and a matching terminal streak that meets this orange streak at both ends. The forewing has a round black apical dot, which is preceded on the costa by a small white dot. The hindwings are grey, and also bear a small black apical dot that is preceded by a whitish area.
