The least seedsnipe, scientifically named Thinocorus rumicivorus Eschscholtz, 1829, is the smallest species in the Thinocoridae family. This bird has short tails and long, pointed wings. Its legs and toes are dull greenish yellow. The least seedsnipe's conical beak is ashy in color, with a shape similar to the beak of a finch or a sand grouse. Adult males have gray faces, necks, and breasts, with black markings at the center of the throat that form an inverted "T" shape. Their eyes are dark gray.
