About Thesium pyrenaicum Pourr.
Thesium pyrenaicum Pourr. is a species of flowering plant in the genus Thesium, which belongs to the sandalwood family Santalaceae. Most genera and species in the Santalaceae family are hemiparasites, meaning they obtain nutrients by feeding on other plants. This species, which is also commonly called meadowflax, is a perennial herb that grows between 15 and 50 cm (5.9 and 19.7 inches) tall. It is native to Western Europe. It has upright stems, with alternate, linear leaves that have three veins and do not have stipules. Its tube-shaped flowers have 3 to 5 petals, and bloom during June and July. The tops of the petals roll inward during the fruiting season. This species has 5 to 9 stamens and clearly distinguishable ovaries. Its seeds have a nut-like shape, and its mature fruit is shorter than the flower it develops from.
