About Theretra suffusa Walker, 1856
This species has a wingspan ranging from 80 to 102 mm. It resembles Theretra alecto, but can be distinguished by two key features: a broad pale dorsal stripe running along the entire length of its thorax and abdomen, and a black basal patch on the upperside of the hindwing that does not extend toward the tornus. The upperside of its forewing also matches the general pattern of Theretra alecto, but the contrast between the lighter pale basal and median regions and the darker postmedian region is stronger than in Theretra alecto. Confirmed recorded distribution includes Nepal, north-eastern India, Thailand, southern China, Taiwan, southern Japan's Ryukyu Archipelago, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Andaman Islands, Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak, Sabah, Singapore, Indonesia's Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, and Palawan.
