About Thera vetustata (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775
Thera vetustata is a moth species that belongs to the family Geometridae. Its geographic distribution ranges from Spain through Central Europe to the Balkan Peninsula, and it does not occur in Fennoscandia. In the Alps, this species can be found at elevations up to 1,600 meters. The wingspan of adult Thera vetustata measures between 24 and 30 mm. Adults are active from late May to mid-July, with a second flight period from mid August to mid September. This species produces two generations each year. The larvae of Thera vetustata feed on Abies alba, and the species overwinters while in the larval stage.
