About Theclinesthes miskini (Lucas, 1889)
This species, Theclinesthes miskini, has a wingspan of approximately 20 mm. Its larvae are dark green or brown, marked with a dark dorsal band and pale diagonal streaks. In terms of ecology, larvae most commonly feed on plants belonging to the family Fabaceae; this includes Paraserianthes lophantha, Sesbania cannabina, and multiple Acacia species: Acacia anceps, A. auriculiformis, A. flavescens, A. pycnantha, A. salicina, A. saligna, A. tetragonophylla, A. harpophylla, A. holosericea, A. neriifolia and A. victoriae. Larvae will also feed on Alectryon diversifolius, Atalaya variifolia, Hakea vittata and Eucalyptus polycarpa. Larvae prefer young seedlings over older plant foliage. Larvae are occasionally attended by various black or green ants from the genera Iridomyrmex, Ochetellus, Calomyrmex, Camponotus, Notoncus, Paratrechina and Polyrhachis.
