About Thamnophis errans Smith, 1942
Thamnophis errans (common name Mexican wandering garter snake) is a species of snake in the Colubridae family that is endemic to Mexico. Within Mexico, it has been recorded in the states of Chihuahua, Durango, Jalisco, Nayarit, and Zacatecas. It occupies an extensive linear range across the pine-oak forests of the Sierra Madre Occidental. When conditions permit, this species is widely dispersed throughout its range. It can be found near streams or ponds, and may also occur around rock piles or logs at some distance from permanent water.
