Thalassoma amblycephalum (first described by Bleeker in 1856) has several common names: blunt-headed wrasse, blue-headed wrasse, blue-headed zoe, moon wrasse, paddle-fin wrasse, and two-tone wrasse. This species is a type of wrasse native to the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific Ocean. It lives on reefs, forming schools at depths between 1 and 15 meters (3.3 to 49.2 feet). The species reaches a maximum standard length of 16 centimeters (6.3 inches), and it is sold in the aquarium trade.
