About Thalassia hemprichii (Ehrenb. ex Solms) Asch.

Thalassia hemprichii, commonly known as Pacific turtlegrass, is a widespread seagrass species belonging to the genus Thalassia. This species is native to the shorelines of the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea, and the western Pacific Ocean. Its growth rate becomes higher when carbon dioxide levels are enriched. It is also able to tolerate reduced light conditions that result from algal blooms. These traits let it respond positively to ocean acidification and other types of environmental disturbances.
