Scientific name: Teuchocnemis bacuntius (Walker, 1849). Adult individuals of this species measure 13.5–18.1 mm (0.53–0.71 inches) in length. They have an orange body, a swollen hind femur, and males possess a ventral spur on their hind tibia. The larvae of this species have not been formally described or recorded. According to an 1887 publication, the species has been recorded from Georgia and Texas, located in the United States.
