Tettigarcta crinita Distant, 1883 has forewings measuring 35 to 43 millimeters in length. This species is found in montane areas of southeastern Australia, with a range extending from the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, south through the Brindabella Range in the Australian Capital Territory into Victoria, and west to the Otway Ranges. It occurs in a variety of associated habitats: subalpine and cool temperate eucalypt forest and woodland, including stands containing snow gums or mountain gums, as well as the margins of temperate rainforest.
