Tetradesmus lagerheimii M.J.Wynne & Guiry is a species of green alga belonging to the family Scenedesmaceae. This species is also known by its taxonomic synonym, Scenedesmus acuminatus. Tetradesmus lagerheimii forms colonies that contain two, four, or eight cells arranged in a single row; cells may be positioned linearly or in a somewhat zig-zag pattern. Colonies of this species are typically curved, semicircular, or contorted in shape. Individual cells are spindle-shaped, arc-like, or sigmoid, measuring 9.2–34.5(–40) μm in length and 2–5.5 μm in width. The outermost side of each cell is concave, and both ends of the cell taper to a point. Tetradesmus lagerheimii is a very common species, and it occurs in a wide variety of freshwater habitats.
