Tessaria is a genus of South American plants belonging to the tribe Inuleae within the family Asteraceae. The recognized species and their distributions are as follows: Tessaria integrifolia Ruiz & Pav. occurs in Panamá, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, and Venezuela; Tessaria absinthioides (Hook. & Arn.) DC. occurs in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Brazil; Tessaria fastigiata (Griseb.) Cabrera occurs in Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina; Tessaria andina M.Monge, Anderb. & Semir occurs in Bolivia; Tessaria dodonaeifolia (Hook. & Arn.) Cabrera occurs in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Several species formerly included in Tessaria are now considered to be members of Pluchea or Pterocaulon.
