Ternstroemia gymnanthera (Wight & Arn.) Sprague is a flowering plant species belonging to the family Pentaphylacaceae. In Japan and China, this species grows at elevations between 200 and 2,800 metres, which is equivalent to 660 to 9,190 feet. In the Himalayas, it grows at elevations between 1,200 and 1,500 metres, which is equivalent to 3,900 to 4,900 feet. Mature individuals of this plant reach a height of 3.5 metres, or 11 feet, and it blooms from June to July.
