About Terellia tussilaginis (Fabricius, 1775)

Terellia tussilaginis (Fabricius, 1775), a species of fruit fly, reaches an approximate body length of 5 millimetres, or 0.20 inches. Individuals have a pale green-yellow body with characteristic brown banding on the wings. The costal cell of this fly is entirely hyaline, and the katepisternum bears reddish spots. The anterior half of the mesonotum ranges in color from reddish to brown, and the fourth tergite is usually black. This species is distributed across most of Europe, European Russia, and the East Palearctic ecozone. It lives in meadows, gardens, and areas where its host plants grow.
