About Tenthredo temula Scopoli, 1763

Adults of Tenthredo temula measure 10–13 millimetres (0.39–0.51 in) in length. The head and thorax are bright glossy black, while the clypeus, labrum, and base of the mandibles are yellow. The abdomen is black, featuring a transverse yellow band and a yellow tip. In males, both the femora and tibiae are black; in females, the femora are black and the tibiae are yellow. The wings are brown, transparent, with brown veins and a black stigma. This is a Euro-Siberian sawfly species that is widespread across most European countries. It inhabits hedgerows and meadows.
