About Tenthredo livida Linnaeus, 1758

Adult Tenthredo livida measure 12–15 millimetres (0.47–0.59 inches) in length. Their thorax and head are black, with a large white area around the mouth and white tips on the antennae. The forewings have a white and brown stigma. This species shows considerable colour variation. Typically, females have a black abdomen, while males have an orange-reddish abdomen. This species can be found across most of Europe. These sawflies live primarily on woodland rides, hedgerows, and the edges of spruce forests.
