Tenthredo bifasciata O.F.Muller, 1766, adults reach a body length of 11–13 millimetres, or 0.43–0.51 inches. The head and thorax are blackish brown. The abdomen bears one or two transverse white or pale yellow bands, which may be interrupted in some individuals. Its wings are transparent with a yellowish-brown tint. This species is distributed across Europe. It primarily inhabits meadows, especially those located near forested areas.
