Temnostethus gracilis is a species of minute pirate bug that belongs to the family Anthocoridae. Its distribution covers Europe, extends across the Palearctic region to the Caucasus and Siberia, and also includes North America; China is excluded from its known range. This species lives on the bark of a variety of deciduous trees. It can be found on trees with dense coverings of lichens and mosses, as well as on trees that have relatively smooth bark, such as Fagus sylvatica, common ash (Fraxinus excelsior), and aspens (Populus tremula). Temnostethus gracilis is predatory, feeding on aphids, Psylloidea, Psocoptera, mites, and other small arthropods.
