About Telephlebia brevicauda Tillyard, 1916
Telephlebia brevicauda is a species of dragonfly in the family Aeshnidae, and is commonly called the southern evening darner. This dragonfly is medium to large in size, with a dark chestnut brown body and dark markings on the leading edge of its wings. It is endemic to eastern Australia, where it is found in alpine regions of New South Wales and Victoria. It lives in boggy areas and flies during dusk. Telephlebia brevicauda looks similar to another species, Telephlebia godeffroyi.
