About Tanaecia pelea Fabricius, 1787

Tanaecia pelea (Fabricius, 1787) has a wingspan of approximately 65 to 70 millimetres, which equals 2.6 to 2.8 inches. The base colour of its upper wing surfaces is pale brown, with pearly-bluish edges. The basal area of the wings features dark brown markings. There is also a discal series of spear-shaped (hastate) markings with dark brown edges. This species is distributed in Singapore, mainland Malaysia, Borneo, Nias, and Pulau Tioman.
