About Tambja morosa (Bergh, 1877)

This is a large species of nudibranch in the genus Tambja, with a typical adult body length of 70 to 75 mm. Most individuals are black with blue markings, but dark green specimens occur in the cooler waters of New South Wales and northern New Zealand. This sea slug has wrinkled skin, and appears almost black when underwater. It usually has around five round blue spots on its back, a blue band encircling its head, and a bright blue edge to its body. This species is primarily distributed across the Indo-Pacific region. It has been recorded in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Taiwan, Australia, French Polynesia, Fiji, and Hawaii.
