This species is scientifically named Tamasa doddi (Goding & Froggatt, 1904). The forewing of Tamasa doddi measures 27 to 39 millimeters in length. This species is distributed across northern coastal Queensland, ranging from the area north of Cooktown south to Innisfail, and extending inland to the Atherton Tableland. It is found in tropical rainforest habitats, including riverine forest, swamp forest, parkland, and gardens.
