About Takydromus formosanus Boulenger, 1894
Takydromus formosanus, also commonly called the Formosa grass lizard, is a species of lizard that is endemic to Taiwan. The body of this lizard is approximately 6 cm long, and its total overall length can reach 22 cm. Its back is brown, and it has a yellow-green stripe running along its side. This species is common across Taiwan, and is most often found at elevations below 1500 m, where it lives in grasses and shrubs. It is active during the day, and feeds on small invertebrates. It is capable of caudal autotomy, the ability to shed its tail. This species was first described by George Albert Boulenger in 1894.
