About Synophropsis lauri (Horváth, 1897)

This species has the scientific name Synophropsis lauri (Horváth, 1897). Its hemelytra range in color from greyish to brick-red; some sources note that males are grey and females are red. The hemelytra are somewhat translucent, with visible whitish veins. The wings darken as they approach their tips. Small dark marks run along the suture, and appear at the distal ends of some of the long veins. The head is yellowish, with a sharply pointed vertex. Antennae are filamentous and very long. Individuals can reach up to 6.5 mm in length, and some may grow as large as 7 mm. Nymphs of this species are green and over-winter. This species is generally described as univoltine, but it is possible that hibernating females produce a second generation.
