Synlestes weyersii, formally described by Selys in 1868, is a species of Australian damselfly belonging to the family Synlestidae. It is commonly known by the common name bronze needle. This species is endemic to south-eastern Australia, and it lives in streams and rivers within this region. Synlestes weyersii is a large to very large damselfly. Its body is coloured a metallic bronze-black to green-black, with distinct yellow markings. When perching, it holds its wings partially or fully spread out.
