Synanthedon acerni, commonly known as the maple callus borer, is a moth species belonging to the family Sesiidae. This species is distributed in Eastern Canada and across most of the Eastern United States. The adult moth has a wingspan ranging from 18 to 25 mm. Adults are active on the wing from June to July; in the United States, activity can begin as early as April. The larvae of Synanthedon acerni feed on plants of the Acer genus.
