About Symplocos thwaitesii F.Muell.

Symplocos thwaitesii F.Muell. is a small to medium-sized tree that can reach up to 30 metres tall with a trunk diameter up to 80 cm. It is usually much smaller than this maximum size. Particularly in New South Wales, it is most often seen growing between 6 and 12 metres in height. In Victoria, it can grow to 22 metres high, with a trunk diameter of 57 cm.

The trunk is straight and cylindrical, with no buttresses or fluting. The bark is fairly smooth and dark brown, and sometimes has vertical rows of bumps. Larger trees may have flaking bark plates and vertical cracks.
