Symphyotrichum ciliatum (Ledeb.) G.L.Nesom is a flowering plant species that belongs to the Asteraceae family. It is native to North America and eastern Eurasia. This species is commonly called rayless annual aster and rayless alkali aster. It is an annual herbaceous plant that can grow to more than 70 centimeters, which equals 2 feet 4 inches, in height. Each of its flower heads contains numerous disk florets that start whitish and then turn pink, and it has no ray florets, which gives it the "rayless" common name.
