About Sylvirana mortenseni (Boulenger, 1903)

Sylvirana mortenseni is a species of true frog. It is distributed across Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand. Its specific epithet mortenseni honors Ole Theodor Jensen Mortensen, the Danish zoologist who collected this species' holotype from Koh Chang island. Two common names, Mortensen's frog and Koh Chang Island frog, have been proposed for this species. Sylvirana mortenseni has been recorded in evergreen forest on lower mountain slopes, gallery forest, heavily disturbed areas, and forest edge habitats. It has been observed at elevations up to 800 meters above sea level. Forest clear-cutting is a threat to this species, even though it is known to inhabit disturbed areas.
