About Styphelia biflora (R.Br.) Spreng.
Styphelia biflora is an erect to spreading shrub that typically reaches 0.4 to 2 meters (1 foot 4 inches to 6 feet 7 inches) in height, and its branchlets are covered in bristly hairs. Its leaves are glabrous, oblong, more or less flat, sessile, 9โ17 mm (0.35โ0.67 in) long, and 2.0โ2.7 mm (0.079โ0.106 in) wide. Flowers are arranged singly or in pairs in leaf axils, on a peduncle 1.0โ1.5 mm (0.039โ0.059 in) long, with bracteoles that are 1.2โ1.6 mm (0.047โ0.063 in) long. The petals form a tube 2.5โ3.7 mm (0.098โ0.146 in) long, with lobes 3.2โ3.6 mm (0.13โ0.14 in) long that are hairy near their ends. Flowering takes place from July to October, and is followed by glabrous, elliptic drupes that are 3.2โ3.7 mm (0.13โ0.15 in) long. This species grows in woodland, sometimes on rocky outcrops. It occurs in south-east Queensland, and ranges as far south as Dunedoo in New South Wales.
