About Styphelia biflora (R.Br.) Spreng.

Styphelia biflora is an erect to spreading shrub that typically reaches 0.4 to 2 meters (1 foot 4 inches to 6 feet 7 inches) in height, and its branchlets are covered in bristly hairs. Its leaves are glabrous, oblong, more or less flat, sessile, 9โ€“17 mm (0.35โ€“0.67 in) long, and 2.0โ€“2.7 mm (0.079โ€“0.106 in) wide. Flowers are arranged singly or in pairs in leaf axils, on a peduncle 1.0โ€“1.5 mm (0.039โ€“0.059 in) long, with bracteoles that are 1.2โ€“1.6 mm (0.047โ€“0.063 in) long. The petals form a tube 2.5โ€“3.7 mm (0.098โ€“0.146 in) long, with lobes 3.2โ€“3.6 mm (0.13โ€“0.14 in) long that are hairy near their ends. Flowering takes place from July to October, and is followed by glabrous, elliptic drupes that are 3.2โ€“3.7 mm (0.13โ€“0.15 in) long. This species grows in woodland, sometimes on rocky outcrops. It occurs in south-east Queensland, and ranges as far south as Dunedoo in New South Wales.
